Canada, US qualify in Thomas, Uber Cup Finals 2024
Canada and the United States were officially named as representatives for Pan Am for the BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2024 (TUC 2024).

CANADA, US AMONG 32 QUALIFIERS TO COMPETE IN CHINA
The two countries emerged in one of the five continental championships that served as qualifying events for TUC 2024. Thirty-two teams are set to compete in the global badminton showcase set from April 27 to May 5 in Chengdu, China.
As Pan Am champions, Canada and the US were joined by host China, defending Thomas Cup champion India, and defending Uber Cup ruler Korea as the three automatic qualifiers.
The four semifinalists from the Asian and European continental champions and the African champions also qualify. World rankings decided the rest of the 16 slots.
EUROPEAN CHAMP DENMARK AMONG THOMAS CUP QUALIFIERS
Aside from Canada, the US, and China, European champion Denmark joins African ruler Algeria and Oceania winner Australia as among the 16 Thomas Cup qualifiers.
Korea, Japan, and Malaysia emerged as among the Asian qualifiers, while England, France, and Germany made it from Europe. Indonesia also advanced since China automatically qualifies as a host.
Thailand, Chinese Taipei, and Hong Kong-China round up the 16-team field. The three countries also advanced due to their world rankings.
SOUTH AFRICA JOINS UBER CUP QUALIFIERS
African champions South Africa show the way among the Uber Cup qualifiers. Also joining South Africa are hosts China, defending champion Korea, European winner Denmark, and Asian ruler India.
Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia came out to represent Asia, while Europe was represented by France, Scotland, and Spain. The US, Malaysia, and Chinese Taipei complete the list based on their world rankings.
