The Kong-Kim South Korean duo
Kim So-Yeong and Kong Hee-Yong are one of two South Korean duos who are in BWF’s top five world rankings in women’s doubles.

Achievements & Progress in badminton

The partnership was a hit right off the bat, as they received the 2019 BWF Most Improved Player of the Year award in their first season together. They had four Badminton World Federation World Tour championships, and two runner-up finishes during that season.
Conquering the season-ending 2021 BWF World Tour Finals propelled them to their highest rank of number two. Kong and Kim are currently third in the women’s doubles rankings, just several points behind compatriots Lee So-hee and Shin Seung-chan.

What does the Kong-Kim duo look forward to in BWF?

Both part of the South Korean 2018 and 2020 Uber Cup teams, Kim and Kong would like for their contingent to get over the hump and be able to win the tournament once again after 12 years. It helps that they have a deep doubles selection to choose from.
