SEN TRIES TO SUSTAIN FRENCH OPEN MOMENTUM

Sen attempts to follow up his semifinal appearance at the French Open Super 750 tournament with a deep run starting on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old No.7 seed exited the first round at the Malaysia Super 100 and India Super 750 earlier this year.

Sen will open his campaign against Malaysian Leong Jung Hao.

Should he get past Leong, Sen will cross paths with a familiar foe in Lee Zii Jia, whom he defeated in the quarterfinals of the French Open.

SINDHU SEEKS DEEPER RUN THIS TIME

Sindhu, who lost to world No.1 An Se Young of Korea in the French Open, hopes to have a deeper run this time.

The two-time Olympic medallist will play German Yvonne Li in the first round.

It was also Li who retired against Sindhu in their first-round matchup at the French Open before the Indian lost to Se Young.

Sindhu’s path should be bumpier if she hurdles Li again.

The No.4 seed will cross paths with Thai Busanan Ongbamrungphan in the quarterfinals and reigning All England champion Carolina Marin of Spain.
