Tokyo Olympic champion Chen Yufei secured the opening win for China by defeating Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt, 21-10, 21-12.

World no.1 Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan asserted their mastery in the doubles over Alexandra Boje and Maiken Fruergaard, 21-12, 21-15.

He Bingjiao sealed the deal for China with a 21-16, 22-20 sweep over Line Christophersen.

China will face Japan in the semifinals, who also swept India by 3-0.

“Japan is a strong team…”

Chen said Japan remains a “strong team” despite their dominant showing in this year’s Uber Cup.

“Japan is a strong team and we need to face them with a good attitude,” Chen said. “No matter who the opponent is, we will give our best.”

“Japan has a flexible lineup because of four great singles players. But so do we.”

This tournament marks the first time since 2016 that China is hosting the Uber Cup on home soil.”
