Hendra Setiawan and Mohammad Ahsan Player Profile
Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan are doubles specialists who have found success whenever they are together. Currently ranked number two in men’s doubles, they are part of Indonesia’s formidable squad.
Before teaming up for the first time in 2012, this pair has had success with other partners. Setiawan and former affiliate Markis Kido were considered the top male duo in the late 2000s. Ahsan previously teamed up with Bona Septano, and together, went as high as sixth.
Setiawan and Ahsan were together from 2012 to 2016 and were ranked first from November 2013 to August 2014. They rejoined in 2018 and resumed their winning ways, garnering the 2019 BWF World Championships, 2020 Thomas Cup, 2020 Asia Team Championships, as well as four BWF World Tour titles.
The “Daddies” of Ahsan and Setiawan and the “Minions” of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo form an unbeatable force for the southeast Asian badminton superpower. They are slated to defend the Thomas Cup in Thailand this May.
