Anders Antonsen

BWF men’s singles world number three and reigning European champion Anders Antonsen has found success both in singles and team tournaments.

Badminton runs in the family genes, with him and his brother Kasper learning the game from their father. Anders is a superstar in his birthplace of Aarhus, winning three consecutive national titles from 2017 to 2019.

Antonsen was a key contributor in Denmark’s triumphs at the European Men’s and Mixed Team Championships, where they won three consecutive titles in each of those competitions. He also was a vital cog in his country’s podium finishes at the Thomas Cup in 2018 and 2020.

He has won 12 ranking tournaments in men’s singles, including his maiden European title in 2021 over world men’s singles rank one and compatriot Viktor Axelsen. At the BWF World Championships, he finished runner-up to Japan’s Momota Kento in 2019 and fell to eventual champion Loh Kean Yew of Singapore in the semifinals two years later.
