IMPACT Arena Profile
Located in the Bangkok’s northern suburbs, the Impact Arena is one of the biggest edifices on its namesake commercial complex in the province of Nonthanburi.
It will be the second time that this arena will host the Thomas and Uber Cup, having been previously played there in 2018, where the hosts went on to the final of the latter, only to be swept by Japan.
After that, it hosted consecutive Thailand Opens last year, where Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen and Spain’s Carolina Marin dominate in singles, with the home pair of Dechapol and Sapsiree reigned supreme in the mixed doubles.
Built for the 1998 Asian Games where it was the boxing venue, the arena seats 11,440 and is part of the said complex in Muang Thong Thani, including the Thunderdome which was the home of football’s Muangthong United.
Moreso, it is the de facto home of mixed martial arts in Thailand, with ONE Championship (of Chatri Sityodtong) held fifteen showpiece events, the first of which came in 2016 at Kingdom of Champions.
Aside from sports, Impact Arena has also hosted concerts and was the venue of the two Miss Universe pageants the country hosted (2005 and 2018).
