Indonesia eyes to get back the Thomas Cup title since winning it all in 2020 and placing runner-up in 2022.
Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) Achievement Development Division head Ricky Soebagdja remains optimistic about the men’s team’s chances.
“Hopefully this year, we can bring the Thomas Cup back to Indonesia,” Ricky said.
“The condition is that fellow athletes must be in really good condition and appear Spartan,” he added.
The men’s singles team will be led by All England champion and finalist Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Gintang.
All England champs Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto comprise the doubles team.

PBSI Secretary General Fadil Imran is aware that Indonesia must first hurdle a tough Group C to win the Thomas Cup.
Indonesia must first get back at reigning champion India and perennial contenders Thailand and England to repeat their 2020 conquest.
India denied Indonesia, 3-0, in the 2022 Thomas Cup finals.
However, Fadil hopes the team carries the momentum of their All England tournament stint in Chengdu, China, for next week’s event.
INDONESIA EYES UBER CUP SEMIFINALS AS REALISTIC GOAL
Unlike the men’s team, Ricky is looking at a realistic goal for their women’s team to reach the Uber Cup semifinals.
Gregoria Mariska Tunjung will lead Indonesia’s women’s singles squad.
The doubles team will be composed of Lanny Tria Mayasari and Ribka Sugiarto as well as Rachel Alessya Rose and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari.
Indonesia is bunched with Japan, Hong Kong, and Uganda in Group C.
The country’s Uber Cup team has not advanced beyond the quarterfinals in the last six editions.
