NO PRESSURE FOR INDIA TO REPEAT 2022 TITLE WIN, SAYS RENKIREDDY

Rankireddy assured there’s no pressure for India to repeat their 2022 title win as they embrace it wholeheartedly.

“Everyone is so pumped up and taking this competition seriously. There is no pressure (defending the Thomas Cup),” he said.

Prannoy, on the other hand, expects tougher matches moving forward after India assured its place into the quarterfinals.

“There are a lot of tough teams out there and it’s going to be tougher for us in the next few days,” he said.

INDONESIA DOMINATES THAILAND, LOCKS IN ON TITLE CHASE

Indonesia nearly matched India’s sweep victory before settling for a 4-1 decision over Thailand.

Anthony Sinisuka got things going by beating Panit Chaphon Teearatsakul, 21-16, 21-13.

Men’s doubles pair Peeratcha Sukphun and Pakkapon Teearatsakuk got Thailand on the board shortly after they posted a 21-19, 14-21, 21-11 victory over Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Adrianto.

Indonesia’s top men’s singles player Jonatan Christie pulled off a 21-16, 13-21, 21-12 victory over Saran Jamsri for Indonesia’s 2-1 lead.

Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin clinched it for Indonesia with a 21-13, 21-10 triumph over Sirawit Sothon and Natthapat Trinkajee.

Chico Aura Wardoyo closed out the tie with a 21-10 21-11 decision over Nachokorn Pusri.
