Over to Group B, Indonesia also booked a place in next round by a sounding 4-1 win over Germany.

The Southeast Asian representative easily walked past Germany in the Mixed Doubles, Men’s and Women’s Singles with Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari defeated onas Ralfy Jansen/Linda Efler 21-19, 21-7, Jonatan Christie def. Faban Roth 21-18, 21-17 and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung def. Yvonne Li 21-8, 21-14.

There was some respite for the Germans who battled back from a set down to win the men’s doubles (18-21, 21-17, 21-19) but it did little to change the overall outcome.

Indonesia’ neighbors and regional rivals Thailand also got the ticket through to quarter-finals after beating Canada 4-1.

Joining the hosts in the quarters from Group A will be Denmark who produced a 5-0 whitewash over Egypt despite resting World No 1 Viktor Axelsen. The imperious Danes didn’t drop a game across the five ties.
