Lee Yang and Wang Chi-lin Player Profile
Lee Yang and Wang Chi-lin are Chinese Taipei’s top duo in men’s doubles. They are currently ranked third in the BWF rankings following two pairs of Indonesians.
Wang and Lee have only been a couple since 2019, but they have already achieved much in such a short span of time. They have amassed seven BWF World Tour trophies, including the 2020 BWF World Tour Finals, where they defeated Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan in the final.
Their biggest win to date was when they upset 2018 World Champions Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen of China to grab the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Because of this victory, they became the first unseeded twosome to secure an Olympic gold in the men’s doubles event as well as the first to garner gold in badminton for their country.
Lee and Wang might not have the most extensive résumé when compared to other leading men’s doubles partners. Still, they are considered a contender in the upcoming Thomas Cup.
