The draw for the TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2022 is now done. What follows is the analysis. Here is a look under the microscope of the men’s singles bracket of the upcoming badminton tournament.
As previously mentioned, Viktor Axelsen of Denmark and sixth seed Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia are set on a collision course in the quarter-final round. What was not brought up is the fact that Ginting could have another Dane in Rasmus Gemke in the third round. Lastly, the final section of the draw can rival in depth the topmost section. Joining second seed Momota Kento of Japan are Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia, as well as recent Thomas Cup champions Srikanth Kidambi, Lakshya Sen, and HS Prannoy. Momota’s path would go through the wringer of Prannoy in the second round, Sen in the third, and either Kidambi or Lee as the final boss.
Some unseeded players worth watching for are B Sai Praneeth of India, Kantaphon Wangcharoen of Thailand, Nguyễn Tiến Minh of Vietnam, Heo Kwang-hee of South Korea, as well as Naraoka Kōda and Nishimoto Kenta of Japan.
